Bridal Trial

Bridal trials are an important part of your wedding beauty experience. They give us the opportunity to connect, discuss your vision in detail, and design a bridal look that enhances your features while aligning with your overall wedding aesthetic.

This appointment also allows us to refine your makeup choices, assess wearability, and ensure you feel confident and fully aligned with your look ahead of your wedding day.

A bridal trial typically lasts 1.5–2 hours.

A signed consent form and non-refundable booking retainer are required to secure your appointment.

All retainers are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you need to reschedule or cancel, at least 48 hours’ notice is required. Exceptions may be made in the case of emergencies.

Appointments arriving more than 10 minutes late may need to be rescheduled and are subject to forfeiture of the retainer. If you are running late, please reach out as soon as possible so accommodations can be assessed.

If you are unable to find a trial time that fits your schedule, please reach out directly and I will do my best to accommodate where possible.

How should I prepare for my bridal trial?

Please bring inspiration photos and be prepared to share what you love about each look. I always recommend choosing images of individuals with similar features, undertones, and coloring to help us create the most flattering and realistic version of your desired bridal look.

Please arrive with your normal skincare routine applied (cleanser, exfoliants, serums, moisturizer, and SPF if you typically wear it). This allows me to see how your makeup interacts with your skin in its natural state and provides the opportunity to make personalized recommendations for your bridal skincare routine so your makeup applies as smoothly and flawlessly as possible.

For ease of application and accuracy, please wear a top that resembles your wedding-day neckline (strapless, spaghetti strap, or similar). Neutral clothing tones are preferred so the focus remains on your makeup application in photos.

I also recommend avoiding large earrings, necklaces, or any jewelry that you do not want makeup transfer on during your appointment.

Should I book my bridal trial before an event or photoshoot?

Yes and no—this depends on your timing and what you’re hoping to get from the experience.

If you have the flexibility, I highly recommend scheduling your bridal trial before your engagement photos or any professional photoshoot. This allows us to see how your makeup translates on camera in both natural and professional lighting, and make any refinements if needed. It also gives us the opportunity to perfect your bridal look in collaboration with your photographer’s style, since different editing approaches can slightly alter how makeup appears in photos.

Certain photography styles can soften or wash out natural tones, which is why we may adjust placement, depth, or pigment to ensure your features still have dimension and balance on camera.

However, I would not recommend booking your trial before events such as bridal showers or similar early-day celebrations. These occasions are often time-sensitive, and a bridal trial requires a more detailed consultation and uninterrupted focus.

For events like these, a Signature Soft Glam appointment is a better option to ensure you look and feel polished without the structure of a full bridal trial.

What information should I have ready for my bridal trial?

Along with your everyday makeup preferences, inspiration photos, and skincare routine, we will also discuss key wedding details during your trial.

It is helpful to have as much information as possible ahead of time so we can properly plan and consult for your bridal look and timeline. This includes your ceremony time, getting-ready location, and the number of people receiving services on the wedding day.

Having these details allows us to begin structuring your wedding morning timeline and ensure everything flows smoothly and efficiently.

Can I try multiple makeup looks during my bridal trial?

Each bridal trial is designed to focus on creating and refining one cohesive bridal look. This allows us to fully assess how the makeup wears, how it photographs, and how it interacts with your skin in real time.

Because skin prep, application, and refinement are all part of a detailed process, we are unable to fully remove and restart multiple looks within a single appointment.

However, we can absolutely make thoughtful adjustments and refinements to perfect your chosen style so it feels completely aligned with your vision.

Can I book a second bridal trial if I want to try a different look?

Yes! While most brides feel confident in their look after one trial, a second trial can be booked if you would like to explore an alternative direction or make more significant changes.

This can be helpful if you are deciding between a few styles, want to refine your vision further, or prefer to experience a different approach before your wedding day. Each trial is designed to be a fully thoughtful, personalized experience, allowing us to ensure your final bridal look feels completely aligned with your vision and confidence.

If I book a trial, am I committed to booking with you for my wedding?

Nope! A bridal trial is a standalone experience intended to give you a clear understanding of my artistry and approach before reserving your wedding date.

This allows you to move forward with confidence, knowing your bridal look and experience align with your vision.
